The Air Asia flight from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur was just an hour long. We arrived at the brand-new and massive terminal two in Kuala Lumpur. An hour and a half layover, and we were on our way again. The demographic of the flight from KL to Brunei definitely changed: most of the women were dressed in Islamic coverings. We didn't realize it until later tonight, but Ramadan doesn't end until July 27. We had ordered meals on the flight, and we noticed that hardly anybody on the packed flight ate or drink anything. There we were, filling ourselves, and most people weren't consuming anything. We felt badly in retrospect.
We landed in Brunei at 3:40 PM, quickly cleared customs, got some Brunei dollars (which are about on par with the Canadian Loonie), and took a taxi directly to the Radisson.
Once we got settled, we spent an hour by the pool, got a bite in the business lounge (thanks to a complimentary upgrade), watched a movie, and called it a night.
This has been the driest of blog entries, I realize that. Hopefully tomorrow will make up for it! Good night from the tiny Sulanate of Brunei.
